Terms of Use

Use the app, learn some Spanish, please don't sue anyone.

The deal

Dos Palabras (the “app”) is provided free of charge by Aaron Hampton (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use the app.

License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on your Apple devices for non-commercial purposes. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, resell, or relicense the app or its content.

The content

The Spanish words, definitions, example sentences, audio, and illustrations in the app are owned by us or licensed to us. You may use them inside the app for your own learning. You may not republish them, scrape them, or use them to train a machine-learning model.

The cute llama is also ours. Please don’t put her on a t-shirt.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Spanish is a real language with real regional variation; while we try to teach widely-understood words and meanings, we can’t promise every translation will be the perfect fit for every situation in every Spanish-speaking country.

We can’t promise the app will always be available, always work on your device, or always sync correctly through iCloud. Apple controls a lot of that.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the app. Our total liability to you, for anything, is capped at the amount you paid us for the app — which is zero.

Apple’s terms apply too

Because the app is distributed through the App Store, your use is also governed by the Apple Media Services Terms. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
